Thanks to the patented geoKOAX heat exchanger the use of geothermal energy is now possible all over the country - not only in areas with drilling depth restrictions but also in small lots and in water reserve areas.

geoKOAX GmbH has been officially announced as a nominee for the “Innovationspreis für Klima und Umwelt IKU 2015”. The price will be awarded for the fifth time by the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V. (BDI) and Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit (BMUB) in January 2016.

A high-ranking jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, former Federal Minister of the Environment, announced this year’s candidates on November 2nd in Berlin. A total of 14 innovative projects for sustainable solutions are nominated in five categories. The jury’s decision for each nominee is based on a scientific evaluation by the Fraunhofer-Institut für System- und Innovationsforschung (ISI).

The award ceremony is scheduled for January 20, 2016 at the premises of Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit (BMUB). The Federal Minister of the Environment Ms. Barbara Hendricks and Mr. Holger Lösch, Executive Member of the Board of Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V. (BDI) will personally award the winner. The first prize is endowed with 25,000 Euro.

The IKU award is funded by the “Protect the climate”-initiative of the Bundesumweltministerium.

In honor of IKU’s mission, members of the IKU jury come from various sections of society.
